77 - Wendigo

In this LONG episode you'll here the next part of "Through the Brazillian Wilderness", a song from 1930 by Ethel Merman and a delicious reading of "The Wendigo", read for us by Wesley Bohannon. Wesley has added sound effects to his reading that really bring it to life, thanks Wesley :)

I've really enjoyed the reading of "Through the Brazilian Wilderness". It's added a lot of value to the podcast & the inclusion of period non-fiction really helps set the mood. Thanks & keep up the great work!

Amazing story, excellent reading. This really stuck with me for days and I still find myself thinking about it.

You can see that Lovecraft admired Algernon Blackwood's writing.
In this story you have the cosmic mystery and horror made small, but Blackwood seems more fascinated and awed by what he writes about than repelled.

I couldn't really get into this reading, though I love the story and it's take on wendigo legend. The reading was decent enough, but I couldn't get past the characterizations. I don't know why the reader has chosen to portray French-Canadian and Scottish folk as characters from Deadwood... Still, this is a great podcast, and I greatly appreciate your efforts! Many thanks for your hard work.

I'm Canadian, myself, and have been to Rat Portage (now called Kenora), and it's beautiful country. After dark, though, it would still make for a great creepy story setting.
